In the early hours of September 13th the Seven Gables Farm, a 150 year old farmhouse owned by John and Gail Bogino, caught fire and was consumed. Thankfully the Boginos’ were just able to make it out without injury. Most of their pets were saved; two cats and two dogs were not able to be found before flames took over the rest of the home.
If you have lived in Milton or Alpharetta for any amount of time then you know the Seven Gables Farm. Many of you know John and Gail personally. Both their farm and their family are interwoven into Milton. Maybe you haven’t met them personally but you’ve stopped the car along the fence to let your kids look at the goats and alpacas in the pasture. If you did, they probably invited you in to let your children pet the animals.
Friendly to everyone, nobody is a stranger at Seven Gables. In fact, just this morning John chastised me for not asking him to bring is tractor over to dig post holes for my new deck I’ve been working on. He said this as we stood outside the charred remains of his home, watching the fire department ensure all fires were out.
So, if you know them or even if you don’t, please stop by in the coming days to wish them well. I speak for all of the community when I say I’m so thankful that no one was hurt, but I’m sure they would like to hear from you.

To the Bogino family, from ours,
We are so saddened to hear of the fire at your beautiful farm. Almost daiy we drive down Hopewell and enjoy seeing the horses (a favorite is the white one with the big black and brown spot on it’s side), the little goats, the llama…just the beauty of the farm itself. You will be in our prayers and we are thankful that you escaped unharmed. The Smith Family in Crooked Creek
Our sympathy goes out to your family for your losses but you are also so blessed that most everyone made it out unscathed. We are sending positive thoughts that the 2 dogs and 2 cats still MIA made it out and show up for looking for dinner tonight! The McCreanors, Crooked Creek.
Dear Bogino Family,
I pass by your house every day and admired how beautiful it is and all of your animals. I’m so sorry to see and hear about what’s happened, but I am so glad you are okay. You are certainly in my family and I’s thoughts and I’ll try to find anything I can to help you with your loss.

Dear Bogino Family,
It made us so sad to hear about the fire at your farm and to see the damage on our way home today brought tears to my eyes. We recently moved here and I have enjoyed driving past your house each day admiring the beauty of your farm. We passed by this weekend and commented on your gorgeous dogs out sunning themselves by the garage. Praying that they make it home safely along with your cats. I understand some neighbors are putting together a list of things you will be needing and we will be sure to help.

To the Bogino’s,
We were devastated to hear of the fire at your farm. Every time we come to visit our daughter, who lives on Hopewell, we pass by your beautiful homestead and marvel at it. I always comment, “I wonder if they would let us go through it”. We are so glad you escaped unharmed and we will keep you in our thoughts. The Knapp Family in Marion, Iowa
Dear Bogino Family,
So very sorry to see your beautiful home destroyed by fire when I was on my way home from work this evening. Your home and your animals give me such pleasure as I drive “to and from” past your home while I am going about my life. We’ve never met, but I am heart broken for your family – I watched your renovations with great excitement and I mark many of the seasons of the year through your decorations. I love to see your animals – especially the dogs and horses. And I am extremely grateful that no members of your “human” family were harmed, although I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers during this time and I am hopeful that your missing pets will be found unharmed.
Blessings to your family during this time,
Gray Nolan
Driving by your farm each day to and from work has been such a great pleasure for me these past 5 years since I’ve started working in the area. I love to see the baby goats and the horses in the pasture. And the dogs laying in the shade keeping watch over things. This afternoon, on my drive home, I was so very sad to see the damage done by the fire but happy to hear your family escaped unharmed. I do hope that your pets are found safe. I’ve been through the same thing many years ago so I know how difficult this must be for you. Your in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Bogino family, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your beautiful farmhouse. I always enjoy driving by and looking at all your animals, especially the baby goats and the big white dog who would lay so sweetly on your front porch. I hope your missing animals are found safe and sound, and all the farm animals find a nice place to stay while you rebuild. My thoughts are with you at this time.

Dear John and Gail,
We were praying it was not Seven Gables when we heard the report of a fire on the radio. Like many others, we have loved your farm for as long as we have lived here and feel a great sadness that you are facing this tragedy. As we told you last night when my daughter and I stopped by, we will be by this week to help recover in any way we can. Were are so thankful that you are safe!
My husband arrived home to our farm last night in Cumming to say there was alot of smoke in the area of your Farm, today I drove over there and I broke out into tears as I saw that it was Seven Gables that had been taken by fire, like many other’s we drive by there all the time and simply admire the wonderful job you have done with the old homestead, it was simply a thing of beauty with much of your heart and soul being being poured into your home and farm. Many within the community are sharing in your grief as you cope with all of this, but we are glad most of the animals and the humans are ok, the community you live in and the surrounding areas are here to support you.
We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your farmhouse. My husband and I pass daily on our way to and from work and we always comment how very peaceful and beautiful your homestead is. It brought tears to my eyes when I passed by this morning. We watched as all the renovations took place. Your family are in our prayers and we hope that your missing pets are found safe. If we can be of any help, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Phyllis and Ray Miller
Dear Bogino Family, we are so saddened by the loss you have just suffered. We drive by your farm daily as we are going from activity to activity and we always comment on how lovely your home is and what animals will we see that day. We are new to this area- we met you once when we stopped to purchase some eggs, and you were so very kind to my girls. You will be in our thoughts and prayers during this sad time. The Powers Family
The first thing my son will want to know when I tell him is if the old big white dog is okay. So sad! The family is in our prayers.
