A group of citizens in North Fulton, called the Roswell Organizing Committee, released a press release today. Claiming the redistricting robs students of their time and heritage, the press release states the school board has “no compassion or common sense”.
It goes on to say that “Bethany Bend will suck the guts and soul out of Roswell, Alpharetta, and Milton,”. You can read the press release in it’s enirety here.
I can’t say I agree with everything they state and I think their facts about limited access to the school causing “a parking lot to nowhere” are overstated, however it does reflect the strong feelings and opinions among families in Roswell, Milton and Alpharetta.

The press release link above doesn’t work. Is there a different link you can post?
Barry – sorry about that, link is fixed.
I just don’t get all this complaining from Roswell residents. The bottom line is that Roswell High School is projected to be overcrowded, some of these student have to move to relieve that overcrowding. Because busing students across 400 is undesirable, and because the redistricting on the east side of 400 took place only a short time ago, there is no place for the Roswell students to move to, but to Milton High School. Milton is also overcrowded, but the new Bethany Bend High School will relieve that, creating the capacity needed.
